CRPF'S 199 BATTALION CONDUCTS CIVIC ACTION PROGRAM AT PINKONDA, BIJAPUR

Bijapur – Under the dynamic leadership of Sh. Rakesh Agarwal, IPS, Inspector General, Chhattisgarh Sector and the able guidance of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Bijapur, 199 Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) successfully conducted a Civic Action Program at Pinkonda village, Bijapur. This initiative was spearheaded by the Sh. Anand Kumar, Commandant,199 BN, CRPF aimed to foster stronger community relations and improve the quality of life for the villagers.

ShAnand Kumar, Commandant, 199 BN, CRPF, while addressing the gathering, re-emphasized the CRPF's commitment to serving the community and assured the villagers of their continued support in times of need. Villagers from Pinkonda Village and nearby Gayatapara, Kakopara, Kotwarpara, Chinbhatapara, Talnar, Kanerpara, and Banjarapara were the major beneficiaries of the event. Sarpanch of Pinkonda Gram Panchayat, Smt. Shanti Mandavi, Balak Ashram Teachers, and Sh. Satyam Parashar, AC, along with SOs and men of B/199 BN CRPF were in attendance during the Civil Action Program.
The program witnessed a wide distribution of essential items, catering to the diverse needs of the community. Women received blankets, shawls and sarees, while men were provided with Lungis and Gamchhas. Agricultural tools and implements like Gainti, Belcha, Fawdawere distributed to bolster farming activities. School bags, pencils, and notebooks were given to children to support their education. To promote sports and recreation among the adults, cricket kits, volleyballs, and footballs were also distributed.

Recognizing the collective needs of the village, the CRPF also provided significant items for community use. These included water tanks to address water scarcity, LED televisions for information and entertainment, and utensils for community-level programs, facilitating gatherings and cultural events.

The impact of such programs on the lives of the villagers has been significant. The provision of agricultural tools has directly contributed to the development of agriculture in the region, transforming it into a more rewarding and sustainable livelihood. The educational support provided to children is paving the way for a brighter future, and the community resources are strengthening social bonds and enhancing the overall well-being of the village.

The Pinkonda Camp has consistently facilitated the needs of the local populace, providing assistance and support whenever required. The program also focused on creating awareness about various government welfare schemes and it’s surrender policy, encouraging individuals to embrace peace and development. Furthermore, the CRPF personnel actively motivated children towards education, emphasizing its importance in shaping a brighter future.

These Civic Action Programs play a crucial role in enhancing police-public relations. By actively engaging with the community, addressing their concerns, and providing tangible support, the CRPF is building trust and fostering a sense of shared responsibility, which is essential for maintaining peace and security in the region. The 199 BN, CRPF remains dedicated to serving the people and contributing to the holistic development of the area.
